Terms

Loafed is provided primarily for entertainment. It exists so you can grade a cat’s tuck and argue about it with your friends.

In exchange, we ask that you use the service lawfully and responsibly: only submit photos you are allowed to use, don’t use Loafed to harass or harm anyone, and respect any rules we publish in the app. If a use of the app feels wrong, it probably is.

Loafed analyses cat photos and generates a score based on four criteria:

• Tuck Level. How completely the paws are tucked away.
• Loaf Shape. How compact, rounded and loaf-like the overall shape is.
• Loaf Posture. How well the cat’s body position matches the classic loaf pose.
• Tail Tuck. How neatly the tail is tucked into the loaf.

Scores are automated assessments produced by software and are intended for entertainment. They are not professional or factual assessments of an animal’s health, comfort, or wellbeing, and should not be treated as such. If you have a genuine concern about your cat, speak to a vet rather than relying on a Loaf Score.

Your cat, your photos. In short:

• You keep ownership. Submitting a photo to Loafed does not transfer ownership of that photo to Loafed.
• Limited permission only. By submitting a photo, you give Loafed the limited permission necessary to receive, process, analyse, store where required, and display the photo and its associated results, for the purpose of providing the Loafed service.
• Not for advertising or training. We do not use submitted photos for advertising or marketing, and we do not use them to train AI or machine-learning models.
• Only photos you may use. Please only submit photos you own or otherwise have permission to use.

You must not use Loafed to:

• Upload unlawful or harmful material.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use.
• Attempt to interfere with or compromise the service.
• Abuse, exploit or misuse the app or its systems.
• Use automated methods to excessively access or overload the service.

Some Loafed functionality may use accounts, and some may be available through anonymous or guest access without one.

You are responsible for how the service is used under your account and for keeping any sign-in details secure. If you believe someone else has used your account or your device to access Loafed, let us know so we can help.

Loafed is an evolving service. Features may be added, changed, or removed as we build, sometimes without much warning.

We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, or that it will always be free of errors and interruptions. We will do our best to keep it running smoothly and to tell you about significant changes where we can.

The Loafed name, branding, website, app design, and original Loafed content belong to Loafed and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our permission.

This does not give Loafed ownership of photos submitted by users. As covered in Photos You Submit, you keep ownership of the photos you send us.

Loafed is provided “as is”, for fun. We do not promise that it will be error-free, that scores will always be consistent, or that the service will suit any particular purpose.

Where the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. We keep this reasonable and proportional: Loafed is a small app that scores cat photos, so our maximum responsibility is limited to what the law permits, which for a small charge or a free service may be re-supplying the service or covering the cost of doing so.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right, guarantee, or remedy that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or modified, including rights that may apply to you as a consumer under Australian Consumer Law.

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to Loafed where someone seriously abuses the service, breaks these Terms, or creates security or legal risks for Loafed or other users.

Where we reasonably can, we will explain why and give you a chance to put things right. If you think we have made a mistake, contact us and we will look at it.

These Terms may be updated as Loafed develops and as new features are added. When we do, the “Last updated” date above will change.

If a change materially affects how you use the service, we will try to let you know in a more direct way, such as in the app or by email where we already have your address.
